If you come across a post that violates these rules or is otherwise
inappropriate, please DO NOT REPLY TO IT under any circumstances.
Instead, send a private message to the Administrator or one of the
Moderators ("Management") with the title of the post, who posted it
and the date it was posted -- OR a direct link to the thread in question.
If the Moderator agrees that the post in question is a violation of
these rules, the post and all replies will be deleted immediately,
and the IP address from which the post was made may be banned from
further posting.
Do
Not Post the Following
1. Libelous or slanderous messages, such as posting personal
attacks, attacks against rodents as pets, or posting under another
user's name and/or email address. This includes dragging dirty laundry
from other message board systems, real life, OR the chat room.
2. Copyrighted material (articles, photos, etc.) without first
obtaining the owner's permission. If copyrighted material is located
on another web site, provide a link to the material, instead. If you
use a small excerpt from copyrighted material, please give proper
credit to the original source.
3. Pyramid schemes, get rich quick offers, or "get paid to
surf" programs (i.e. AllAdvantage).
4. Obscene material or links to obscene material.
5. Personal messages to individual forum members -- please
use private messages, as that is what they are designed for.
Furthermore,
planning, inciting, promoting or facilitating illegal activities through
the Rats Rule Forum is strictly prohibited. Items that fit into
the above categories, if posted, will be removed from view and if
necessary, action may be taken against the poster.
Regarding
Medical Advice
This forum is provided for public sharing of rat care knowledge, experiences
and ideas. At times, its exchange may include discussion of medicines,
therapies, symptoms, diagnosis and similar topics. While a wealth
of information can be found here, it can NOT replace the advice of
a professional veterinarian! Under no circumstances can anything found
in the forum, or anywhere else on the Rats Rule site, be construed
as professional veterinary advice or instruction -- even if a person
on the forum identifies themselves as a vet or a tech, because they
have not seen your animal in person. All vet care discussion at the
Rats Rule Forum is intended for the purpose of assisting you in
discussing options with your local vet. Any other use is done at your
risk and is solely your responsibility.
Advertisements
You may post rodent-related advertisements such as: animals available
for adoption, cages for sale, rat-sitting services, announcements,
etc., in the FLEA MARKET ONLY. You may advertise updates to
your personal web sites in Rat Tails & Mug Shots IF they are rat-related,
but please use common sense, and don't spam the board. Non-rodent-related
advertisements, including pyramid schemes, get rich quick schemes
and "get paid to surf" programs are not permitted, and will be deleted
on sight, without warning.
Advertising
is also NOT permitted in the chat room. Those who come into the room
for the sole purpose of drawing attention to a classified ad they
have posted may be kicked from the room, or lose chat room priveleges.
Enforcement
of the Rules
These rules are enforced by the Management, and violations will be
dealt with as the Management sees fair, including but not limited
to: deleting the offending messages or thread, blocking the IP address
of the offender, and contacting the service provider of the offender.
The Management reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to delete
any questionable messages as well as to temporarily or permanently
ban a person from the Forum at any time for any reason.
Be
Responsible
You are responsible for yourself, your safety and your actions. Any
formal or informal agreements made between members in the Rats Rule Forum which result in a dispute is strictly an issue between
the parties that made the agreement. You are cautioned NOT to give
personal information in any forum messages, and information such as
postal address, home address and phone number WILL be deleted by Management
by editing your post. When you choose, at your own risk, to share
personal information, please do so in PRIVATE EMAIL or INSTANT
MESSAGE . Posting such material to the message boards makes your
information available to ANYONE who has access to the Internet and
this site. Only registered users may post to the board, but anyone
may read the board.

of this YaBB forum make every reasonable attempt to keep the forum
functioning and of a generally 'friendly' and safe environment, there
